A Fellowship-and-Support Group for Faculty Teaching Online
Back in March, most of us were suddenly flung into the internet, where we had to teach with minimal training, many for the first time ever. Now this fall, we’ve continued to teach in new modalities that involve web-based delivery. While more training has become available as college and universities have adapted to the “new normal,” many of us would still like to have a community with which we can share our experiences–a digital equivalent of the faculty lounge or the grad student offices.
You’re invited to join me on the first Monday of every month to talk about your online, hybrid, and hi-flex teaching adventures. We’ll share stories, commiserate about challenges, brainstorm solutions, offer suggestions, and generally help one another to become more effective in our online pedagogies.
Past topics have included final exams, student engagement, discussion forums, best software or apps for various tasks, adapting assignments to the online environment, synchronous vs. asynchronous sessions, and much more. Please join me, and bring a friend of colleague!
